8.1 Horizon quits Fault code Crank shaft position sensor

Hi does any one have any Ideals I was driving the boat in calm water and starboard motor quit while I was running 3800 rpm oil pressure normal temp normal
motor just quits the Mercruiser smart craft display says Crankshaft position fault 132 and camshaft position sensor fault I tried to restart the motor cranked and would not start, I limped back to the marina on one motor tied the boat up turned the engine off packed the car up came back to the boat and tried to start motor and it started checked the Mercruiser Smart Craft Screen fault code Screen and now it showed no faults ANY Ideals ?? it's 2002 360 Dancer 8.1 Horizons thanks in Advance Tom

Maybe another smartcraft error?? I got them every now and then the first two seasons I had the boat. a low fuel ckt, an analog tack that freezes, etc, etc. I took all the connections apart in the bilge and sprayed contact cleaner on them, and no problems since.
Did you shut down the other engine (the one with no problem) when you tried to restart the affected motor? Both engines have to be shut down to "reset ".
If you find out anything else on this let us know.

No i didn't shut down the other motor when i tried to restart the starboard thats good to know that both motors have to shut down before the smart craft system resets I am going to try the contact cleaner on the connectors and hopefully that will take care of the problem I hate these intermentent problems !! I did talk to the mechanic he says the crank shaft position sensors either work or don't he has only had a handful go bad in ten years THANKS My 3 SONS
