I'm losing coolant out of my port engine, +/- ⅓ gallon from a 1-2 hour runtime. Come to find out that my heat exchanger is bad. I plan on replacing it this fall. In the meantime I just top it off before we leave the dock

My question, anything I need to look out for when replacing? Looks pretty straight forward (this is what I say before every project...).

I've replaced one of mine years ago. Very straightforward but I'd take the opportunity to replace your thermostat while the exchanger is off and replace the rubber seats that the exchanger sits on since they dry out after time and can leak A/F. I had a rad shop attempt to repair mine, but after two failed attempts I just replaced it. These are quite heavy copper so don't forget to take them to your scrap yard for $$ salvage!
