I noticed on my SRV260 that the galley sink has one knob but the faucet in the bathroom has two. I'm guessing the boat originally came with cold/hot water? For a "small" cruiser, I'm actually shocked that the boat would have any type of hot water. If it did, where would the heater unit have been located? I don't recall seeing anything under the sink or in the engine compartment.

Also, any recommendations on what the GPM (gallons per minute) should be for the water pump?

Our '82 260 has the hot water tank to the starboard of the engine, about a 1.5' cube. Ours isn't plumbed to the engine anymore but I'd like to learn how, we seldom stay in the dlip. Somebody probably changed out one of your faucets over time.

Not sure on the gpm. The 240 came with one too big and would blow water out of the sink!

My 268 had the water heater setting on the starboard side shelf. It had electric run to it and also coolant running through a copper heat exchanger. the heat exchanger hoses ran from the water pump through the exchanger and looped back to the connection where the sending unit for the temp gauge is, at the front part of the intake manifold , there is a 1/2" tee and the heater outlet is on the run and the sender is on the branch. As far as gpm for the fresh water pump I don't have an answer to that one.

I owned 1979 260 express. It had just one water tap in the galley that was cold water. It was centered at the back of a small stainless sink. It did have a water heater although I've forgotten which side. It was probably starboard because the head was on that side of the boat. These early boats were pretty simple.

OK, thanks. What year was the 268 and was it a 350cid?

The 268 is an 86, the engine is a 350 chevy
