78 sundancer 800 omc outdrive impellor

Can I change the impellor without pulling off entire outdrive. I was curious if I can just drop lower unit and get to it from the bottom of top unit ? Any help thanks

Depends on the model of OMC. The Cobra is very easy to replace the pump/impeller.
Ther is a cover on the back of the drive held on with a couple of screws and the pump sits behind it. Nothing else needs to be dismantled. Providing none of the screws are frozen.....20 minutes.

You have to pull the out drive. I did it this winter in the boat I bought to make sure I didn’t have any trouble with it. Get a manual and it is not that hard.
