i am curoius i have a 78 sea ray sundancer that has no fast idle at startup so kinda loads up until choke opens. i was wondering my 86 regal has a shifter that i can kick out the shifting part and run the throttle only up. my stock sea ray shifter has a label that says throttle with a arrow pointing in torwards the center of the boat. yet i can figure out if it will aloow me to set to throttle only so i can run the idle up at startup. do anyone know the trick or it will even do this?

There is a button at the throttle you push in to run the throttle up without being in gear. Is this what you mean? Just push and hold the button in and push the throttle forward. Typically pump the throttle a couple times with the button pushed in (neutral) and hold down 1/4 or half way to start when cold. Then pull back throttled up a bit to warm up. The button may be in different places with different throttles. Most seem to be at the center of the bottom where the throttle pivots, center of the circle.

i figured it out the whole shifter pops out and only runs throttle. no buttons just slide it out and disengages the shifter and runs throttle only
