I've been slowly (very slowly) restoring a '79 SRV260 and ready to drop my replacement engine in. I just had the transom rebuilt a few months ago so I'm in the process of aligning the new engine and drilling new motor mount holes.
The engine (350) has a front mount on each side with two holes for a lag bolt. So that secures the front.
On the back, the engine bell housing has two holes with bushings that connect to the out drive.
What I don't remember (it was 2 years ago and someone stole my camera phone with all the "before" picture I took) is if the engine's bell housing was bolted on the bottom.
If you look at the link below in the first picture you'll see there are 2 holes.

If anyone knows if their engine is bolted to the deck please let me know and what size lag is being used.
