Started my gen today and she fired right up and after bout five mins she started to surge then shut down. It will fire back up but then surge and shut down. Anyone have any suggestion s where I should start? It shut down with load and i checked the fuses and they are good.

Did you have good water flow out of the exaust? Could be overheating. How long between starts? Plugs may be fouled. Those are the usual starting points. MM

ok, still need some troubleshooting advice. Today i replaced the plugs, oil is good, water flow is good, choke/throttle are operating normal. Next step is to replace fuses and inlet fuel filter. I have to order these parts, I have never replaced the fuel filter and not sure if it ever has been. Any more DIY suggestions before i give in and call the mechanic?

I would try reposting without the typo. In fact make a new header like: Kohler 7.3 Gen troubleshooting help needed. You have gotten less than 50 views as it is. Maybe a moderator could combine after the fact. MM
