I have 1999 400 sundancer with a 7.2 Westerbeke gen that won’tstart from the remote panel all the time. Sometimes you get lucky and itstarts. I checked it out yesterday and I believe the black box mounted in the engineroom next to the gen called monoplex gen-set 4 controller is bad. This remotesystem has a single monetary switch. Once you push the switch it sends a groundto the black box and then the box sends power to the starter relay. If I jumpthe wire coming out of the box the gen starts. Question # 1 does anyone knowwhere to get these control boxes from other than searay . Question 2 has anyonehad ran into this problem before with these controllers. 3) Question 3 not sure how the heater system works with a single switch.
Thanks for the Help.

Are you allowing the prime cycle complete before trying to engage the starter from the remote? Mine is very particular about that.

Push it to On, then depress further to Start, then release. This does not engage the starter. The indicator will flash slowly during the prime cycle (which on my boat and most others with the older 7.0BCG, doesn't actually prime). When that cycle is complete, the indicator will flash rapidly. At that point, press the rocker again to engage the starter.

You CAN cheat - there's a period before the rapid flash begins that you can engage the starter, but it's designed not to crank directly from the Off position to the Start position.

New to site and don't know how to start a post so I will reply. I have a 1990 350 Express Cruiser with a 7.1 Quicksilver gennie. There is water leaking from the water pump. How do I replace or change seal?

Mine did the same and after a lot of work it was the battery, if that is the case check that generator charger is working!
