My Atwood hot water needs to be replaced and they are no longer available. Has anyone used Whale Seaward as a replacement and where did you purchase it.

Thanks,

Glenn

Thanks Risingson, I checked out model 11811 but I noticed the input voltage was 50 Hz 120 V. Shouldn't it be 60Hz 120V?

That actually looks like a typo on their web page (and other pages, and other sites). If you look at the 11 or 20 gallon models, which have the same variations -- they state 120v/60hz. Regardless, the water heater is a resistive load, so it wont care if its 50hz or 60hz. For peace of mind, I would simply give them a call -- maybe they'll update their site.

Sun chaser, i replaced mine on my 98 290 dancer. I got it from e bay. Just need to know if you need front and back mounts or side mounts.

When I needed parts for my Atwood last year, I bought them from Whale.
They appeared to be a direct replacement.
I’m not 100% sure, but I’d bet a new Whale would be a direct drop in replacement for your Atwood.

Mine was just replaced before I bought my boat. But if mine died again I would probably take a closer look at the Isotemp heaters. They are stainless steel tanks so I'm thinking they should hold up forever. I don't know anything about them first hand, but check them out.

I bought the Kuuma last year from Walmart on line. I believe I paid $279. Plus shipping.

Just make sure you look at your old one. Front mount or side mount. Get the same as you have now. If you dont it might be tuff to mount if you dont have the room to do
