58 Sedan Bridge Official Thread

Guys in Ft. Myers replaced all of our sanitation hoses and rebuilt toilets and vac gens before we left down there to bring the boat north. Glad to get it done all at once, by folks who actually knew what they were doing.

I have not received the file yet if you can send it that would be great. The previous wonder ram new hoses from the VG4 to the holding tank however neglected the dry rotted ones from the bowls to the tanks. I tried pulling it through but they must be fastened or siliconed in there somewhere. Does anyone know of a person in the Lauderdale area that they would recommend.

Dunno FLL anymore, but...

The guys in Cape Coral who did ours are Fleet Repair & Marine, 239-945-2173... They're really bonafide VacuFlush people, and I gathered they travel.

Or maybe they can recommend colleagues in FLL...

Robert - please PM me your email address. It's too big to post here...

Different subject; does anyone have the manufacture and part numbers for the cabinet push button/pulls? One of the MSR hanging lockers pulled out. I was able to get it back in by taking it apart, but the the cheap plastic that hold it in is broken.

Thanks, Ken

It is siliconed where it enters the PVC pipes. Because of this I was not able to have my forward head hose replaced all the way to the toilet, as my lower cabin hallway is not carpet it is hardwood and they covered up that hatch that gives access to the PVC pipe for the forward head. The risk of damaging the walls or floor boards far outweighed a spliced connection at the aft head!

I certainly agree with you on that! I don’t even want to rip up the carpet!

Something to keep in mind for anyone that wants to add wood floors.

My rudder shafts are leaking at the packing nut. Has anyone changed out the packing while the boat was in the water. What width packing material should be used. Thanks

As a follow up to the replacement of the master toilet sanitation hose. The hose took about 6 hours and some bruised knuckles to remove due to the tight space and the amount of silicone that searay used to seal off and secure the hose into the chase. The installation of the new hose took less than 30 minutes using saniflex hose and lots of dish soap. If it wasn’t for the silicone whole job would of been less than an hour.

COCKPIT SEATING REPAIR

The upholstery on our cockpit bench seating is well past its sell-by date. Sea Ray tells me skins are no longer available for this boat... and steers me to our local Sea Ray dealer to ask about a local source.

Before I do that... have any of you already worked this problem? Maybe found an OEM-like supplier who may already have patterns?

-Chris

Ours failed about a year ago. We removed the two pieces and took them to a local canvas shop (Cape Canvas). They were able to match the vinyl perfectly. The only issue is they could not embroidery the Sea Ray Logo on the back rest.

Bummer. The place that I use will do that, they even did the raised Boston Whaler logo on the bolsters when we had it done 2 seasons ago.

You have the opportunity to do anything you want. Below is what suited our taste.( sorry table is in the way but you can see the design). Any good upholstery shop should be able to stitch in the Sea Ray Logo…..
