55 sundancer / 580 sundancer cockpit layout and size difference

hi there can anyone explain the difference in size from a 55 to 580
i know the 580 is aprox 1 meter longer but where does it diiffer in layout.
the plan elevations found on sites show exactly same cockpit.... no differnece at all ?

There is really no difference. It is the same boat. They changed the way the boats were measured as I understand.

There is no difference between the 55/58 Sundancer. Sea Ray only changed the model designation, much as they did with the 420/44DB and DA, 550/58DB and 390/40DA. Other than the model designation, engine options and some minor trim differences from year to year, the 55/58DA are identical.

Years back I remember being aboard a late 90's 580DA and it had a basic sundancer seating arrangement. The space between the transom bench and the rear-facing bench was like a dance floor! TON of room.

What year boats are you pertaining to?

There is no difference between the 55/58 Sundancer. Sea Ray only changed the model designation, much as they did with the 420/44DB and DA, 550/58DB and 390/40DA. Other than the model designation, engine options and some minor trim differences from year to year, the 55/58DA are identical.

Brian is right on target. When comparing models you have to include the model year. Not just Sea Ray, but other manufacturers as well.

That was the Super Sun Sport without the garage option. CRAZY amount of space in the cockpit! The garage option had much less due to the garage itself and additional seating modules. Below, the 580 was extremely similar to the 540 Sundancer.

He used the 2-digit and 3-digit nomenclature, so we're assuming we're talking about the '08-ish era dancer with the extreme reverse sheer.
