540/550 DA

has anyone replaced the fridge on a 99 540 sundancer? if so can you share how its done/ thanks.

Can you show us a photo? Several thoughts. If it's the wood grain background, I might be able to provide a cover plate. Have some leftover dash pieces. Standard Horizon makes a small unit GX1400G, roughly 6.15"X2.5" or perhaps remove the handset for now and just use as a receiver. Thought about a remote mounted VHF like Vesper? Ray, Garmin and other vendors also have remote "black box" VHF.

Oh, see what you mean. Too bad it failed. Looks very cool, would be right at home in jet cockpit panel. Wonder if a SH GX6000 would fit in the space around the VHF cutout. The 6000 is about 6 3/4" X 4 1/2

I love the videos I've seen on the Vesper Cortex. Its under strong consideration. Does anyone have experience with it?
 
Second question of the day... What is the correct engine oil? My previous 3126s took straight grade oil. Is this the same for the 3196 or does a multi grade work?
