We purchased a 2006 52 Sedan Bridge this spring and have really enjoyed the boat and getting to know all the systems. One by one I figure things out and have a few questions that may be common with other SeaRay models:

1. Sirius on main salon Bose system- is there a remote for the clarion receiver or can it be programmed into the universal remote without its own remote to "learn" from? Tried searches and find nothing useful.

2. Bose System - forward cabin. Without purchasing yet another remote, can these speakers be turned on and off using an inline extension cord switch rigged under the bed with the dipswitches set same as cockpit speakers? We will never listen to other music here than what is playing in the rest of the boat.

3. Ray240 VHF. I think this has the updated software so the mayday call alarm won't go off with the unit in standby mode (it cannot be shut off completely). Recently I am getting an error message "handset unit cannot connect with main unit V1.10) Tried Raymarine but no help and can only reset VHF by shutting of main battery solenoids which is not possible with engines on and underway. Any other way to reset the radio or avoid error?

4. Raymarine E120 - has anyone found a way to shut down the radar array without shutting down the chartplotter? Would like to retain functionalty of unit when entering an marina or tight harbour without the radar spinning.

Help with any of this would be great and look forward to helping with other boaters issues.

I can help with #4, you press the red power button and you have the option to put radar in standby.

poss answer to #2. my bose is older but if i press and hold the power button it turns the foreward system on. also remove the batt cover for the remote you have. mine has a bunch of micro switches.the only diff between my remotes is the last micro switch is up on the foreward system remote.

Sorry, no additional answers - just wanted to say hello. I think I recognize the dogs as I believe we've shared a number of common anchorages over the course of the summer (Frying Pan Bay, etc.).

Cheers,
Paul

Yep. You can also turn the radar off completely.
Standby keeps the mag hot so that you can switch it back on immediately, without having to wait for the it to warm up again.

Thanks for all your help. Will post solutions to all issues one I find them. Look forward to meeting you, Jackie JV, somewhere around Georgian Bay.

Answers to questions:

1. Sirius remotes -We set up the Clarion system to act as the remotes and connected the Bose system so we only pay one Sirius subscription. Now tired of the 3 Sirius channels that we actually listen to so will probably cancel.

2. Bose system in forward cabin - I set the dipswitches on the forward cabin amplifier the same same as on the cockpit amplifier so they both come on together. I attached a switch type extension cord to the forward cabin amp and threaded the switch out the ventilation opening on the side of the bed so it can be turned off when required.

3. Raymarine Ray 240 VHF - took apart all connections and checked and cleaned. No problem since but carry back up radio and don't trust that problem is solved. Still no reponse from Raymarine customer service inquiries.

4. Raymarine E120 - radar shut off- thanks for your help. Press power button and it can go in standby or shut off. In standby I find the array won't always park itself straight.
