Does anyone know if Sea Ray installed these from the factory? I have a 510 and ran across this one at my storage yard. We spend alot of time on the boat and this would be fantastic. I could do the install but I am not sure how everthing is connected. Such as does it drain to the sump or right out the side of the boat? Does any one have any experience with these? The only other boat I know with one is a old 53 Hatteras and they love it. There's drain out of the side of the boat.

I don't recall seeing a dish washer option in any of the owner docs. The only option i'm aware of is the trash compactor. I agree you probably want run the drain to washer dryer line. I don't htink the sump would handle the flow.

I have a 1998 550 DB with a factory installed dishwasher. Sea Ray used the Asko 770 model dishwasher. These units are no longer manufactured. Sea Ray used a separate drain line for the dishwasher since it would have required a 180 degree bend to match up with the washer/dryer drain. I wouldn't recommend hooking them to the same line anyway.

Installation might be complicated. I think you would need a separate sump/holding tank and a mascerator discharge pump due to food particles in the washer discharge. If you get the dishes clean enough not to worry about mascerating the discharge, then why mess with the dishwasher because you'll have to wash the dishes 2X.

Dishwashers are of two types. One type uses a self-cleaning filter and as a macerating pump to reduce the size of food particles. The other type uses a filter that you must manually clean, since you don't have the macerater. The main advantage of this type is that it's far quieter.

We're redoing the kitchen. The new unit is so quiet (~40db) that you need to check the indicator lights to know if it's running. On a boat, you probably would want the latter type since it won't foul the drain and because they're generally quieter. Look at models from European manufacturers. They're smaller.

Best regards,
Frank

I have seen low water requirement, low dish capacity counter top models only. This is the first I've seen of an onboard D/W since I traveled on large gray boats with white numbers on the bow.

Very nice addition. I would be interested in a very small model for Saint Max. Anything to make life easier!

I have a buddy with a Regal 52 Coupe and he has a dishwasher - one of those two drawer models. Seems to work well.

They also sell dawn dishsoap and a scrubber pad for less than 5$. Keep up with it and wash things when you're done, no pile up. Or even better, paper plates and plastic cups!
