51 Dancer

, but for clarity and because show promotions have changed over the past years, the only real manufacturers show remaining is the biggie…Miami International Boat Show.

So we will be seeing a 51 Sundancer aka. 51 Sunroom  at the Miami Boat Show, with Zeus pods, and have Mercury rep's there to answer questions
and push their wonderful , never to fade away, pod drive system ?

KayKook.....I am going to make sure one will be there and will certainly let you know. Would you like a personal viewing in Miami or any other arrangment I can try and set up for you? If for some crazy reason there will be none in Miami (they are all sold out...nice problem to have) I will still offer you a personal tour and viewing of a 51 right here at the factory where they are made.

Thanks RH. Been on a plant tour a few years ago and enjoyed it. My brother in law is interested in looking and piloting a 51 Sundancer with Zeus. So that is why I was asking, since he will be in Miami at the show. I love the 51DA, but out of my league.
I would like to know if Sea Ray will have the two new outboard powered Sundeck's ready for Miami, that's more in my price range.

sorry guys.....you can bust on me around mid August when it is 100 degrees in the shade down here and only 1000 percent humidity.

It will be winter time down here by Miami Show time.....might drop down to the 70's by then.

KayKook...please invite your brother in law for a plant tour if he so desires....I have no problem in your asking me anything about our boats and hopefully have demonstrated that I will do my best to get the info asked of. But truly prefer you not make a stance against me..makes me nervous to be public. ..." push their wonderful, never to fade away pod drive system."...we are not talking about the water right? I try very hard not to use words like "never" in a rapidly changing industry that binds solid a__ old school boat building with today's bells and whistles technology to the max. If you are asking me to respond to a statement like the above, then I will have to bow out of the discussion....know what I mean....please.
I am not sure of the outboard deck boats but will look into those models for you in the morning from the Tenn group. Can I assume you do not want a private viewing on the 51 or do you believe your brother in law is ready...Let me know , we'll talk. You do know that our entire product line is also on searay.com I can only imagine that deck boats will be on display and sale at the Miami Show.

Stay with me brother, don't play with me. I am on your side and will help you put a 51 foot boat in a 51.01 foot slip with a major cross wind and strong current....but you.will.have.to.listen.to.the.Captain.

Captain Rusty - thanks again for the personal tour and cruise on that beautiful 510 in Knoxville last Sept. Sue and I really enjoyed it. Great boat.

I have the answers I needed. The rest of the questions I have will be sorted out in time. Thank You Mr. H.

Interested to see down the road, if the new Cummins QSB6.7 will make an appearance in the 51 and other Sea Ray DB's.

Ms. Sue is greatful for what info you are allowed to share.

Rusty...
any way to get Zeus in a 2002 380DA?

Someone might want to tell Mercury Marine to stock and hand out a new catalog marked "@2012" on Zeus at the Miami Boat Show.

No Catalog, no display sample, no verbal information other than "we do not know" at the NY Boat Show.

I understand that a Zeus powered boat can be ordered as there are in-stock drive units.

Without a catalog and other promotional matieral, is it fair for a Zeus powered ordered boat owner to be ask some hard questions at Miami?

What is up with all the drama re Zeus? No one at Mercury or SeaRay ever said it is going to be technology that will prevail forever. The entire propulsion market is constantly evolving. Always has, always will. Right now, Zeus is the state of the art from Mercury. Will that change in the future....undoubtedly. All I keep reading is a fascination with creating drama concerning whether Zeus will be around in a couple of years. What's the point??? Are the posts somehow aimed at creating uncertainty re Zeus and product support? Is it aimed at generating interest in alternate products such as IPS?
If a 2012 catalog would make a difference in one's interest in the system my suggestion is to get one's priorities in order and focus on the important stuff, such as does Zeus fit your needs. If your concern is whether Zeus in it's current iteration will be around forever or even 5 more years, what's the point? If that is the case my suggestion would be wait 30 years and I'll bet there will be an even better system out there.

If you look carefully at this photo you will see that this is obviously a test platform for a 60 ft Brunswick brand convertible with 4 Cummins Mercruiser QSM-11 in her. Why else would the bridge controls be mounted on an outboard center console with a T-top with a single helm seat.

Draw your own conclusions.....and I know the nay-sayers will probably opine that this is the new solar powered pod system or something, but this sure doesn't look to me like anybody is giving up on Zeus?

And, I'd give a weeks pay to run that thing for an afternoon....................

Mr. Webster - When were you at Harbor Town Marina; during the Sikes Creek Dealer show? Regardless about 10 slips South of where that boat is moored on the same dock is where I keep my 400DA, "Kama Hele".
