I am looking at a 1995 500 Sundancer with the DD 6-92 ta's. Anyone know the real fuel burn numbers at cruise and wot?

It would seem to me that given the age of the boat that you are talking about the burn rate could vary due to hours on the engine and the bottom paint Yous should go onto the MTU or Detriot Diesell web site and see if they will give you information for that engine at various speeds. I have two 715 hp Cats and they average, combined, 1 gallon per minute of operation. If the Detriots are ore of similiar output they should burn about the same.

These Detroits are 535 HP, with 700 hours. I am guessing 40-50 gallons per hour.

I would say that they should be on the low side of your estimate, but I would say your guess is pretty good. The power sounds a little low for that boat. In 2000 Sea Ray was putting 3196's in that boat and they had 660 hp. The boat moved very nicely with the 3196's The hours should not be a factor in the burn rate as they are still pretty "new".

if this helps my 2003 500DA with QSM-11's at 2100 RPM 29 MPH up river burns 50GPH.

hi,

my 2005 525 (us model 500) with qsm takes with ca. 20 kt. and 1800 rpm about 70-80 liter each.
but also 140 liters are possible by 31 knots. "each"

;-)
