Have 1985 5.7L OMC. There are 4 outlet nipples off of exhaust manifold. One each on port and starboard sides goes to thermostat housing. There are two others located directly beneath each of these. Are these capped and used for winterizing?

welcome ! i'm not sure if i can help you or not-but here it goes--i just changed my mnflds. on my mercsr. went from old style log to new center rise--after much investigating--found that the two hoses that are below therm. go to the risers for cooling the exht. wtr.,and the ones above therm. go to mnflds. for heated circulation . if you only have two inlets on manflds.if you have three inlets on mnflds. run the other two hoses to the mnflds. if not --plug them off,or run a short hose between the two for added circulation--also look for "pdf" on this hookup for more info. some of the therm. manflds were carry overs from older style hookups that required three hoses per side-or someone changed your exhaust mnflds.
