Hello Gents, I have a 2007 searay 200 select (200 hours) with a 5.0mpi (0w656595) alpha drive that I pulled out due to a rusty oil pan. My question is do you think this aluminum pan would suffice? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-121012 Cant beat the price. While i have the motor out, i am going to replace the rear main seal, quick oil drain hose, gimble, baffles etc. Is there anything else i should check and or replace while i have the motor out?

Thanks in advance

Nic

I had to replace the pan on my 350 Mag last fall. This is the only job that I have let the shop do. When I took it in, certified Merc dealer, we discussed which pan. He wanted to go with the OEM so that he had a warranty to fall back on if something were to go wrong. So to the tune of $1300(parts and labor), I have a new oil pan.

Ok thank you. Does anyone have any input about using this aluminum oil pan from summit? Its aluminum and its cheaper, that is why i am so interested.

Never had luck with aftermarket oil pans, even high priced Milodon. Leakers.... I bought a nice freshwater used take off, OEM oilpan off Ebay for short money

Buy the OEM pan.
Rustoleum makes a metal epoxy 2 part paint that brushes on.
You'll never have a rust problem with it again .
