496 exhaust question.

I know there are 2 types of exhaust bellows: the "original" type that clamp to the gimbal housing and the out drive, and the "sport" bellows tha clamp to the gimbal housing and just kiss the outdrive.
My previous owner installed the sport type. The exhaust is surprisingly louder than I expected, especially when I trim the drive up.
Will the "thru the outdrive" bellows reduce any of this noise?
Or maybe I'm just getting too old?

It will cut down the noise substantially.

Check before you replace it.
I believe 350 MAG and larger motors require the sport bellows.
