Can anyone summarize for me or is there a place online that shows the exact changes that occurred in each production year of the 48 DA (Sundancer)?

Thanks!
Jason

The only change I know of for 2008 and 09 is the zues option. I have walked an 08 recently, and could not find anything difference from our 06...

Except they now have a cutout for the cabin key. Anyone that has a 48 knows what I am referring to. If you leave the key in and open the door completely, it will snap the key off.

Over all we love our 48.

Jason,
A few very minor changes over the years ( some like stated above ) then some wood flooring , then all wood flooring, all minor changes. some even more subtle. Only major option is zeus like MISS MOUNTANS stated.

I would go to the Sea Ray website and download a copy of the model spec sheet for 05,06,07,08 that is available in the archives section. Print them out to compare side by side and with a little time you will see some differences in features. Other info you may be interested in is what changes were made during the construction of the hull and deck from year to year or even month to month. The maufacturer will make changes as they see needed such as more or less fiberglass laminate during lay-up or slight changes in position of engines and machinery to adjust list or attitude or strength, etc, etc. I was informed by Sea Ray that on my boat there was a change in the fiberglass lay-up schedule for the transom area in order to beef up the stern of the boat to accomodate added swim platforms. I believe that change was on 05 models and later.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone. I've noticed various small changes (missed the key cutout), will try and find time to do the Sea Ray spec exercise. It seems to me like all (at least all I've seen) of the 05 and 06 cabinets are a matt finish and in 07 and beyond they are a gloss finish. But that is just based on the few 48's I've toured.

Jason

PS - The '09 at the Sea Ray Yacht Expo last weekend also had an integrated salon TV (higher up than the older models) and motorized skylights similar to those on the 43DA.

Besides the above mentioned

The 2009 has the salon TV mounted on the bulkhead above the cabinet where it used to be. I like it hidden, but you gain more storage. My 2007 HAD the key cut out..TG

Minor things are lighter woods and flooring, and different decor packages.

Great great boat to own and run.

FYI: the NY show was BAD this year, many vendors missing and the ones there only showed a few. I think Sea Ray and Bayliner had the largest selection from their line up. And most were 08's. We enjoyed a better time walking Rockafeller Center and having dinner.

I was on the 43 Sundancer at the boat show yesterday. The drop down TV in the main cabin interfered with the cabinet over the sink. The cabinet doors didn't even line up. The TV needed 1/4 of an inch shift to the right to allow the cabinet door to open. I was a little surprised about that. Afterall the list price was around $800k. You can buy a pretty nice house for that price...

Does anyone know exactly when they went from matt finish cabinets to gloss finish cabinets? It seems that every 05 and 06 48DA I've seen it matt finish, the few 08 and 09s have been gloss finish. Not sure about 07.

Regards,
Jason

I know the 2007 you could option both. When I was purchasing Fra Diavlo at the 07 Norwalk show mat finish was on my list, but the one hull they had with it had the full teak option and was a blue hull. Both of which I did not want. I ended up with all the other options and a white hull/blk canvas. All I wanted except the matt finish.
