Moving up again. Currently a 390 DA. However, our family absolutely loves boating, can't get enough. We want/need 2 staterooms and would like more space. Not ready for sedan just yet, love the Sundancer way of life.
Looking at used 48's possibly 2007, a couple to choose from. Like to hear pros and cons of this model. Anything not happy with, problems or concerns I should be on the look out for. The 390 was/is a great boat no problems whatsoever. I'm hoping the 48 is just bigger and better.
Thanks for your feedback.

The 48DA is a great boat, Sea Ray got this one right! I've heard people say the galley cabinet panels started peeling, not mine but this was a known issue. I had to replace my transmission coupler due to an issue with the coupler mfgr in 2007, isolated issue. In 2007 some of the sanitation hoses supplied to Sea Ray were bad and cracked prematurely, this was not a 48 Sundancer issue but a 2007 problem. I have now owned my boat for a little over a year and it's a great family boat, a great party boat, and it handles well. I don't see what one wouldn't like about it.

I can echo Jon's comments. We've had our 2007 for 7 seasons now and absolutely love the vessel. You'll be pleasantly amazed at the difference between your 390 and the 48. How about some links to those you're considering?

M&P Yacht Sales in Vancouver has (2) 2007s for sale. They should have a 2009 coming in too but for much bigger $$$. I think the 2007 is the best bang for the buck.

Completed the second season in ours and I am completely in love to the point that every night before I go to sleep I think about the 48DA as I think of each and every family member. It has functioned flawlessly getting our family of 4 to far away ports in all kinds of sea conditions in comfort. At port, we are completely comfortable with plenty of room and storage, not wanting for more. The only down side is that it is a thirsty beast at 0.66 - 0.70 mph, albeit a fast one at 24 knots cruise and 29 knot top end. Very well designed living space and mechanical systems. A real timeless design that is 10 years old, yet looks current and turns heads.

We moved up this year from a 2009 40 Dancer into a 2008 48 and have no regrets. The boat in my opinion is the best layout that Sea Ray has manufactured. I would suggest looking at a 2008 or newer due to the electronic throttles and the 2nd generation smart craft, other than that the 2005 to 2009 models are basically the same.

Enjoy your search, I spent 2 years looking for the one we purchased this spring.

2005 to 2012 are basically the same, except for price.

Don't overlook the 420/44DA. Also 2 state room and 2 head set-up. The 460 was the predecessor of the 48DA and a solid, well designed boat with lots of room and 2 state rooms.

You're right. I have considered it. But knowing me as I do in a year or two I would want bigger. I really liked the 44 and had to settle for a 390 because there just wasn't many good ones around and the 390 I finally got into was in mint condition with all the extras.
What I also like about the 48 is the true hardtop and hydraulic swim platform, plus the extra space. 48 still plan A. But a newer 44 could be plan B. I was considering a 2007 44 a short time ago with all the bells and whistles and then some but no deal, owner wanted more than it was truly worth and eventually took it off the market.

Coming from a 420/44DA the 48 is night and day difference. When I had the 420DA I thought they were very similar, I was wrong.

Cockpit helm Layout, full glass, engine room layout, how the aft stateroom is more private, the overall look, and lift.
