48 Sundancer Loss of power steering

Here you go. I thought I remember it being pretty easy - and it is.

Notice the gray wire coming out on the right side of the pump.

Trace it to the battery.

Look for the fuses in the little boxes marked "fuse". One is a 5 amp (not sure the 5 amp has anything to do with it, but I would check it anyway) and one is a 40 amp. Find the one that is blown. I pulled the 40 amp one out for this photo.

Hope this helps!

Well you were correct, I had to order a 40amp fuse and took out the blown fuse and the steering works like a charm. Thanks again for the helpful pictures. Did you ever figure out why your pump blew the fuse?

Hey thanks so much to you guys, as I'm having the same thing on my 44 DB and I have the same pump. My mechanic was out there supposedly looking at a number of other things, but no mention of this. I should have known better and just got on the board. Fortunately he's an honest fella and mostly doesn't charge me until he's identified the problem. Also fortunately, I don't use him "too" often as I like to do whatever fixes I can myself without getting too deep.

Thanks again and I'll let you guys know if that was my issue too. Mine started immediately following a 10 day haulout for a bottom job.
Later.
