I noticed a decrease of water pressure in my showers. I was thinking that the water filter might be clogged. It looks like there are two filters. One small one before the pump and a large blue container just after the pump before the water distribution system. How do you go about changing or cleaning the filters? thanks

Under the salon floor starboard side you will find the water pump. On the inlet side, there is a small clear plastic bowl, with a fine mesh sreen inside. Unscrew this bowl, remove the mesh screen (be careful, the edges are sharp) and rinse it under the shore hose. Most likely you will find a opaque type if slimy film on it that cut the water preasure. The output side feeds directly into the manifold system on my 2007. I don't have the "large blue container"

The blue container should be the pressure accumulator...don't try to open it, it's under pressure!
Is there a bicycle type valve under or on it???

About the filter: just as Rich said.

I am not on the boat but I will check to see if there is a valve underneath. It really looks like a carbon filter would sit inside the blue container. I won't touch it.
When you take out the clear bowl on the inlet side, should I just shut off the water pump? Water shouldn't pour out?
I use a spot free water filtration system on the dock. Do you think that is making any difference for my water supply?
thanks

I have the same water filter you describe it looks like this

except longer.

It is a chlorine water filer and you should probably change it yearly. I had a problem with water flow and replaced mine it it made a significant difference.

Shut the pump off and shut off the city water. When you unsrew the bowl it will leak small amount of water, but no big deal. I also use the spotfree/filter system mounted on an aluminum bracket in the transom locker so it's with me all the time and out of the sunlight. Unless that filter is also glogged, it doesn't affect your presure

Ryan, yes that is exactly what it looks like. Where do you get a replacement filter for that?
Rich, do you know the exact size of the carbon filter for the spot free system? I hate ordering from the company because the filters are so expensive.
Thanks

I took the old one off and went to Home Depot and found the exact size in a twin pack. Also they have so many filters in that size you can pick the type of filtration you wish. odor, taste, sediment and so on..
I was thinking of swaping out the single unit for a double and and using 2 different filters to cover the wider range of marina water issues.

The 48Da is a great boat, I love it. This will be my third season (the longest I've ever held onto a boat) and not even the slightest inch of itis..

No problem with standard manitenance.. you can access all the filters and impellers and do all the daily checks....if your a dyi type then of course like any boat there are places that are tight, but my boat is professionaly maintained, so except for bulbs, clamps and such, I call the dealer and tell them to take care of it during the week.

At 80% throttle (72% load) cruise speed is 23knts (25mph or so) burns 36gph
At 92% throttle (80% load) cruise speed is 28knts (30mph) burns 40 to 41.5 gph

I run the 80% throttle when there are gassers traveling with me, so we can all stay together. The 92% is when we are all diesel boats traveling.

These figures are with full fuel, full water, rib dink on back/9.9hp, and 2 on board

Rich-

I like your numbers better than mine. At 80% throttle, I'm showing about 82% load and yielding 21.5 knots. At 90% throttle, I'm showing 90% load and getting 25-26 knots.

Burn rates are about the same based on % of throttle - speed is pretty close but I seem to have a higher load rate. Also, 2 on board with full fuel , water, and RIB w/15HP.

Do you also have the GHS lift?

Stan

No lift and since I'm mostly alone, I don't load the boat with a ton of crap. Fresh food for to last the time aboard each weekend or I dine out, so no pantries filled with heavy cans and such. You will be surprised the weight people can add bringing everything they own with them.
