More screen envy!!! Cmon Grant, I have had my new screens maybe a month!

Ha

Can't wait to wait to see them! Good stuff

Ok...new project. Stole a pair of GS165’s I couldn’t say no. Fresh out of a mega yacht doing an upgrade. Monday I will get with Sam at Technographic and get a new panel cut so I can bolt them in.... I can’t wait.

Can't wait to see the finished product. Is this somewhat of a plug and play replacement?

Yes, I have A127’s now with all the upgrades I installed. These simply replace them and plug into the network. Just the mounting is a little tricky because they max out the space. I am just fortunate to live in the mega yacht capital here, I have networked with some good electronic guys that are always swapping out late model gear on these yachts then they sell the take offs for unbelievable prices.

You are fortunate to have access to to all that! I have to take a four hour trip just to get my boat hauled out. I may have to move...

Grant we have the GS16 screens and they just fit but look great. I tell ya what I love the excitement around the 48 sundancer on here and sure will miss ours when she sells. We didn't envision live aboard life when we bought this boat but both my wife and I are really excited about it.

OC can't you cut your current panel since the new GS165's are larger than the E120's? I was thinking of installing new electronics as well and figured going to larger 16" units there would be room to cut the current panel since so little would be showing after installation.

Technically yes but... The 16" MFD's the hole is to the limit of the panel and cutting with a saw would be challenging vs a CAD mill. On mine since these are edge to edge glass displays I am going to "flush" them into the panel so Technographic is going to use a little thicker material and mill them into it so I will have the "flush" look and a bit more strength.

Grant,
JB is correct, for a surface mount your original panel should be fine. But I imagine you want them to be flush mounted, so Technographic will have to rout out the additional material for that. I just took a look at my old panel, looks like it is going to be super tight for the screws that hold the panel to the helm. Cannot wait to see it!
BTW, if you trip over another one of the deals, give a shout please!
Wifey won't be happy, but..... :)

Edit:
Wow... good timing!

Sounder unit. My A127's have it built in, these don't so i have to use an external unit to connect my sounder/fish finder

If you could that would be awesome. Thank you!
John,
Here you go, I didn't install the cushions as they are burried in the back room under one of the beds that my wife has all the pillows stacked on but as you can see it makes a nice "twin" bed.

Did some "teak maintenance" this weekend. I love it after a fresh coat of Semco... I think I am going to ask Santa for teak in the back of the boat for Xmas...

The admiral requested I move the vacuum from its current location to the outer location. She says Sea Ray screwed up since it is stupid to have to remove the corner cushion to get to the hose storage and requested I move ot so it was easier to get her hose out..... Happy wife Happy life!!! Don't tell her this was easy!!!

Teak looks great Grant!

How easy is the semco to work with.?
Super simple just labor. This is my third time so for me just re coating every 3 months is just brush on with a foam brush wait 10 minutes and then rag off the excess with a dry towel in the direction of the grain. The first time is the most work as I did a “cut” with 220 grit and an orbital sander to expose fresh grain, then two coats of sealer. Now just soap and water and a new coat every 3 month and she looks as good as new.

I ordered all the Vacuflush components from Marine Sanitation & Supply which was the bellows, 2" duck bills, and O-Ring kits. I ordered 100" of SHI-1011120 sanitation hose HD 50 Roll 1-1/2" from Jamestown Distributors. That's 2 - 50 foot rolls. For the toilet bowls I ordered the Dometic 385318162 Ball/Shaft/Cartridge kit and the Dometic SE341549 385310063 Floor Flange Kit's from Amazon.

Hi Jeffrey, I was trying to look up the sanitation hose on the Jamestown website and could not find the hose referencing the item no#SHI-1011120, do you remember what hose you used? (white, black, wire supported etc) I am going to tackle changing out the sanitation hoses in the spring and was leaning towards using the white hose with wire support. Ug... not looking forward to it. Any pointers you may have on this project would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
JB
