48 DA Owners Club

Pulled the never cold and found some interesting stuff as well as treasure.
1. Now i know why i had excessive icing, the service panel in the back is held in with Pudy and duct tape poorly exposing plenty of gaps for humid air to enter. The gap around the pipe that entered to the cooling coil was huge. This could all be fixed if i was going to keep it and I am sure the icing would be much better.
2. The cherry wood inserts came right out… these are worth more than gold for Sea Ray owners. Now I have spare laminate that matches perfectly my boat.

All in all the norcold is just old and small inside compared to the Vitrifrigo. I am happy to swap this out for the admiral. Now lets see what I can recover on Craigslist or Offer Up from the Norcold.

Well, it is official. The Admiral and I have joined the ranks of Sea Ray 48 ownership. We closed on the deal yesterday. Had to fit it in amongst work schedules but we got it done. Heading back today to finish the move-in process. We had a delivery "ride" yesterday. I was amazed at how easy this boat is to drive. Got to love the power steering!

The picture with the 3 boats: My "old" 420 is on the right, and the "new" 48 is on the left. I believe that is either a 55 or 59 in between.

Good one! While driving for the first time yesterday, I told the delivery Captain how nervous I was! Gonna take a few weeks to settle in. We are supposed to go to North Carolina in September. Time will tell.

42 to 48 will take a week or so to be comfortable. You'll be fine. Congrats and happy cruising!!

Congratulations!! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it

I’m at the boat now and my cablemaster
Keeps turning on by itself. Any troubleshooting or way to shut it off?

Sounds like interference between the remote and the receiver. Try changing the battery in the remote and the pair it. There should be a breaker for the cablemaster on the main panel in the ER.

Check the switch in the transom. Maybe a short?

Congrats! That interior finish is my favorite. Enjoy...

Thank you all for the welcome. There will be millions of questions forthcoming, but the most pressing from the Admiral is where to store the sink cover? I've looked in what I would guess to be the usual places but haven't found anything. Can any of you veteran 48 owners shed any light. 2006 model.

Thanks,

Jaybeaux

Left side of the garbage can under the sink. I don’t think there is a dedicated storage for it when not in use. We rarely use ours!

Does anyone know this boat? If so thoughts?
I’m on Long Island with an 06’ - well less than 4 hour drive from Philly during off-peak hours. You’re welcome to come visit my boat, it’s in the yard. PM me if you’re interested.

Also, anyone within a 4hr or less drive from Philadelphia area that would be willing to let me and the wife check out their 05-09 48 Dancer? Maybe somewhere in NJ, Chesapeake Bay area, etc.
