Just looking for some conversation, comments, likes or dislikes. I have the 2012 470DA version, that was the 43DA in 09, and then changed thru a very crafty little sticker change to the 470DA in 2010 lol..I have about 52 hours since in service date of 6-25 out here on the Ohio River....Don

I too have a 2012 470 and I'm 4 hrs north oh you on lake Erie. Launched mine on May 3rd. I have about 28 hrs. Generally I love this boat but I have some things that are not right such as the cockpit refridge. The dealer, MM Catawba has been great. I actually had trouble adjusting ti the Zeus.

How do you feel about the "crafty" sticker change, They have done this numerous times.....IE the 2003-2005 500 DA became the 520DA for 2006-2009, and the 2007-2009 55DA became the 58DA in 2010....rubs me the wrong way.

BBlack- did you buy the one that was in the showroom at MM Port CLinton- we drove up right before ordering to look at the interior. I have had the same cockpit refridge issue, it just doesn't get cold enough even on the highest setting, ambient temps in the cockpit under full sun affect that unit's ability to get under 43 degrees. I had it replaced by my dealer (Sea Ray of CIncinnati- great service) bu the new one is basically the same. It is great after a cool night if I get the canvas off before the sun heats the cockpit up. How does your drains in the showers and vanities work? I had a bad sump float switch in the shower sump which created slow drain issues but that seems to be resolved. Have you had anything relative to Trim Tab operation?

I also am not a fan of the "sticker" change scenario- as it always comes with a price increase on the backside. The funny thing is when I park my 470 (43) besides any 460DA I am the smaller boat in length, girth, and height - but hey my sticker says I'm bigger lol

DF470DA No I ordered mine at Expo. That rear refridge sucks. I have exactly the same issue. They pulled mine last week to check pressures and are waiting to hear from Isotherm for direction. Both my drains are slow (head & shower). When I'm running with the auto trim tabs on, the boat list to port. I've been adjusting them to level out. I bought a 1990 350 DA that turned into a 370DA so Sea Ray has been doing this a long time. Where you really get screwed is in docking fees and winter storage in comparison to the smaller hull #'s.

Now that I think about your post stating that they replaced your refridge and it still doesn't work properly...... that's not going to be acceptable. I't's one thing to get sick over improperly cooled food but 43 degree beer.......that won't work. Seriously I've always had Norcolds and they were great. I can't imagine how these Isotherns work where it really gets hot. I'm going back to Sea Ray for a solution if they can't correct this. My salon refridge just stays below 40 degrees at the coldest settings and it's an Isotherm also. Why do the Brittish drink warm beer?......... because Lucas use to make refridgerators.

I have everyone of the issues you mentioned and a whole lot more, some of which really should have been addressed prior to my mid June delivery. I also had to shut off the auto tab and level with manual trim due to a port listing issue when coming up and staying on plane, which kind of follows my original starboard TAB A press fault that was coming up on my vesselview screen. Funny as it sounds, the cockpit refridge beer temp comment is right on since that is the place where the beer is best located. I have resolved myself to the fact that while the IsoTherm products look great, they have no ability to deliver a dam cold beer, lol....I have by the way gone directly to Webasto (Isotherm mfgr) and Sergio is looking into the cabin issue. That one can't balme ambient temps like the cockpit one is affected by. I'll let you know if I get anywhere....Don
BTW- if you run into Dan Russell at MM tell him I said hello (Don Frank)

My dealer just Emailed me about a Zeus recall that just came out. Heard any thing about it?

Zeus Drive Service Campaign
I know there has been some discussion on MYO recently about the hydraulic lines on the Zeus Drives leaking or needing replacement. I just received a "NOTICE FOR PRODUCT IMPROVMENT FOR ZEUS DRIVE SYSTEMS OWNERS" directly from Mercury Marine.

It says:

"A brief summary of the improvments we will apply to your Zeus System includes an inspection of the hydraulic hoses. Also included is an inspection and replacement of the sensors that report hydraulic pressure to the Zeus electronic modules. These new sensors will offer an improvement to moisture resistance and extend reliability. Finally we will reflash the electronic modules that comprise the brains of your Zeus operating system. This upgrade improves the system fault reporting strategies to shorten and reduce the number of audible tones for certain noncritical system faults."

The letter says to contact your authorized Mercury Diesel dealer and make arrangements for the inspections and upgrades. From what I can tell, this does NOT effect new Zeus drives (in the last six months), but may be worth checking into regardless. My drives are over a year old and are included in the campaign.

Bblack I also have a 2012 470 took delivery in June, I do my boating from wickford RI. I have about 65 hours on it. I have been talking to don now for about a month now discussing our issues we have come across on this boat. I have the slow drain issues, the fridge issues and some more that like don said should have been fixed before the boat left searay.

My biggest concern right now is the slow drains which my dealer sea ray and myself have been going back and forth on the best way to fix this issue. I will keep you in the loop with that.

Feel free to email me with and questions or concerns as well

Had a laugh yesterday while cruising my dingy through the harbor a 43/47 dancer.
It said 43 on the transom and four seventy on the side.
Wonder what he pay in dockage?

I would be interested in knowing what you newer 470 owners had for boats, prior to your 470. Also, what are some of the things you love about your 470's. I wonder, if you considered any other boats at the time you bought yours, and now that you have some experience with it, are you glad you didn't select any of the competitive boats.

ZMan- I came out of a 2001 380DA. Looked at Tiara (4500 Sovran) seriously during the process, but the styling of the 470 just appealed to us more. The Tiara is a beautiful boat, and prob a little overkill for the Ohio River in that it is such a great Big water boat.

The styling is distinctly different, while I have no problem with the Tiara, the 470 still crushes it, in my opinion, as well.

This is our third searay started with a 340 then built a 420 and now have the 470. We love the boat gave us what we where looking for that our 420 couldn't like two staterooms two showers and the all glass. We didn't really look elsewhere as we have been a searay family for a while. We did however look at the 48 sunseeker portifino today at a local boat show and I feel the sea ray offers more room and surprisingly a more polished finish.

Nice, steady progression of upgrades, Andrew!

I've had a few Sea Ray's, 11 as a matter of fact. They were a SVR 20, a 23 cuddy, a 268 DA, 34 DA, 370 DA, 400 Express,400 DA,410 DA, 420 DA, 44 DA, AND A 470 DA. I liked most of them, loved some of them and disliked 2 of them. I really like the 470. Not in love with it yet but it could become a romance. The Zeus is different. I think I prefer a twin stick with a thruster when docking, but at speed the Zeus is awesome, hands down. The layout of the 470 is awesome. My 2 favorites,400 express and the 44 DA. My least favorite...... I don't want to offend anyone.

Hello...new 470 owner here. This summer we purchased a 2015. Love the boat. We've put 115 hours on her since Memorial Day. Love the fully enclosed cabin and no canvas. Don't like the set up for dining. The cockpit table is too small and too close to the seat. The storage is awkward. Good friends just picked up a 2012 470. The two boats are really interesting. There's pros and cons to both. Overall, the 470 is a really nice upgrade from our 2005 Regal 4260. Prior to the Regal, we had a 1995 370DA
