With Cummins diesels, what top speed and RPM are you guys hitting? SOG or GPS? Thanks

I have an 01 with 450 diamonds Your RPM should be 2600 but I would advise you to prop to 2700 per Tony at SBMar. Speed is relative but I'm about 26knts fully loaded with a clean bottom.

At WOT - we are running 3450 RPM and 34.8 knots. Our average cruising speed is about 2800, 27 knots, burning about 33 GPH.
We have the Cummins QSB 480 engines with Zeus pod drives. Our boat is the 450, not 460 but hopefully this information is helpful.

I have two sets of props so I have done a bit of experimenting.
With the original set (26" pitch) I could not quite pull the 2600 rpm WOT so we reduced pitch to 23" and then they spun past 2700. Very safe but slow. The present set (pitched at 25", heavier cup) gives around 2660 fully loaded with full fuel and water. Top speed is around 26 knots and cruise at 2300 (around 85% WOT). That will give 19 knots, rising to 21/22 knots as fuel burns off. The Cummins mechanic said the mechanical 6CTA is capable of 90% all day with an occasional burst to maximum but I don't push it that much.

Off topic question guys. Is it possible to ship a 460 hardtop with the hardtop attached? Always look and see some nice ones out of state. The thought of dismantling the roof and electronics is scary.

Depends on the state and the height of bridges. My neighbor had a 540 shipped with it removed and I will say it's not that big of a deal. The key is making sure the wires are cut and labeled properly so it's not a guessing game.

Yes - I shipped mine from Lake Erie to Austin, TX with hard top in tact.
You just need to find a hauler with the proper trailer to move it
