454 Magnum Drain Plug Locations

i'm sure now after looking its a 3/8" bolt hole for mounting something not used on our boats. could be 5/16" but not a problem

yes thats the oil pressure sending unit

i hope that wasnt the empty hole you foune

HA HA.....thanks Garry...and no....my sending unit hole is plugged....with a sending unit. :smt001 Just wanted to confirm I was looking at the right thing.

I want to change my oil sending unit. While running it one day last month.....my oil pressure gauge suddenly dropped right off to zero. Then it came right back up again. My gauge bounced around on me like that a couple of times.....normal running around 40-45 psi...then suddenly dropped right down to zero again for a minute or two...then immediately back to 40 again.

My pressure didn't drop off gradually......the needle simply dropped right to the zero mark...then jumped immediately right back to 40.

Last time I ran it, the gauge stayed at 40-45 again all the time. One of these damn intermittent things. So I bought a new sending unit to change it out. We'll see what it does for me next year when it's back in the water.

Just as an aside.....what do you suppose the odds are that the 2 brass quick disconnects I bought at Home Depot to put onto the nipples in my block drains would BOTH leak. Go figure.

I had 2 brass plugs here so I simply plugged them. Kind of odd though that they'd both leak.

OH BOY;MY BAD, the quick couplers i used are aero-quip stainless steal fluid couplers.
you likely got brass air line couplers at home depot. they wont hold water very well.

i should have told you that when you commented and didn't
