Couple thoughts:

1. Looks like a great boat.
2. You'll love having the hydraulic platform.
3. Looks pretty cold and snowy up there in NY. Since the boat is coming from TN - it likely wasn't winterized? Still lots of cold weather in the forecast, so be careful!

Right on there. I bought a center console with a 330 Cummins in it in St. Augustine Florida and the inter cooler actually froze and broke on the way home. 17 degrees from North Carolina all the way to Ct. did it. Put the boat in the shop and wondered what all the water was in the bilge. Winterized it, then wondered where the antifreeze in the bilge came from. Wallah cracked inter cooler!

P.S. Looks great, can't wait to see it when you come to the Flotilla!

Ah, this reminds me the delivery I took of my 320DA which came from Tampa. I can imagine the excitement level. As others have said, make sure that all the systems are protected from the freezing temps.

Congrats and good luck with the delivery and assembly.

Do you mind sharing the name of the firm are you using to move it, and the costs. I am considering a similar sized boat in KY.

Congrats! What year? We've owned ours for 3 years and have loved it. There are a few other 450EB owners on here. My Cummins have been flawless. If you have any questions, let us know. Have fun with it!

Great job in finding a nice boat. Like the others, I can't wait to see pics of her on the water and your family using it.

2002. I'm sure I'll have questions once I get her in the water. I've been looking for this model for about a year. The motors have 260 hrs and the genset only 27! Is there a official 450EB thread?

Marine Contractors moved her. They were recommended by the sea ray dealer that sold the boat new. They charged around 11k for the move. The arch and swim platform had to be removed. I highly recommend them. Good Luck!

Did the $11K include the arch removal? Do you have a contact? Thanks,

Scott

Scott,

Yes, included everything minus the lift on and off the trailer.

I hope you had a great summer with your new express bridge. I'm new to the sea ray communist and have a shipping question. I see from your pics, you did not have to remove the bridge for transport. Do you recall how tall your boat was after removal of the arch? I'm transporting my 1995 440EB and keep getting mixed reactions from truckers.

I transported a 44DB in the spring from KY to MI. It was not too bad. There are a number of marine transporters that specialize in this sort of move. In the end I paid about $9K all in, which included $5K to the trucker, $3K to the disassembly guy, and $1K for miscellaneous marina charges.

Going down the road my rig was about 14'5", which is very high and requires special route planning since some bridges are lower than that. In the end my boat arrived with some grime, but no damage. It was put back together and in the water within about a week. No residual issues from the move.

You might want to talk to Captain Rusty, here on the board. He works for Sea Ray and was able to pull the Sea Ray transport drawing that basically shows the height at various points on the bridge so that you can see what needs to be removed.

I used American Marine Transport up here in Michigan. They had good equipment, insurance, and were very careful with my boat. PM me if you want more info.

Good luck.

Scott
