This installation has the sea water water pump against the transom and same is not reachable. It appears the the solution is to remove three of the mounting bolts and pivot the unit out from the transom to gain access. Any thoughts?

You can get to it, it isn't fun, but it is accessible by reaching around the front of the generator to remove the water pump. You are pretty much $h&% of luck if you have a cablemaster on the boat because you need to be sitting behind the port engine facing the generator to reach around behind it.

My setup maybe a bit different, but same issue. It can be done, but you have to use "the force" most of the time. Reach around the back <In my setup there in not enough space to go over the top> disconnect the 2 water hoses. There are 4 nuts that hold the pump to the engine, remove them and pump will slide off (the 4 studs will keep it there until you slide it off). When you have the pump removed, before you do anything else, mark the orentation of the notch in the pump shaft. When you reassemble, be sure to clock the shaft to that position. This will make installation much less frustrating. R&R the impeller, spin the shaft to check the bearings, etc. Reassemble the pump, clock the pump shaft, and reinstall on the engine.

That would be my set up......
