Seems my marvel freezer's compressor just died...perfect timing with the memorial day weekend right around the corner. Not sure if I'd rather pay $450. for a freshly installed compresspr in a 15 yr. old freezer...or spend $600. pn a new Summit FS-62. But if I do buy a new one, ill have to remove the old and bring in the new one. However they are both 24" wide and that wont work with the hatch protrong a couple of inchs from the side.....any idea to to get it fully out of the way?

There is a 6” Round accesses panel under the bar on the back deck behind the ice maker that you can remove the stop for the door then remove the door handle and slide it another 3” or 4“ Out the Way There is on mine. Not sure if sea ray put it there but know unit was changed when boat was new under warranty

Mine died last summer. I was able to get it out with no problem. I think the only thing I removed was the freezer door. I had it repaired for around $500.

I have a 97 420AC...and after cutting a six inch hole as described above, i came to learn that on the 97's, the door stopper is located at the top and not the bottom of the door. In my case, i had to cut a hole in the bottom of the storage compartment located above the bar. That gave me access to remove the stopper with a phillips head screwdriver...no worse for the wear....yet another sea ray access panel oversight.

Did you check to see what the depth of the unit is? You said it was 24" wide but I found that the fridge in my boat is only about 21" deep. Not the same fridge but maybe the same situation.
