Need help knowing who to contact to find out how the NY today from Atlantic City about an hour out the rear of the chair came loose from and rocked forward. Can't believe it is/was a Sea Ray issue a it has been through rough seas before.

I had Nuteak installed 2 years ago which love an 'm thinking they might have taken the seat loose from the floor as we sure haven't. haven't pulled the seat up but it rocks forward so that three of the bolts are out of the holes completely and hat means the front ones are loose as well.

Hoping someone knows whom I can call or a PDF or something showing how it is supposed to be installed and if the head liner has to come down or no how that happens an goes back together. We just started the loop three days ago and are just North of NY City at Half Mon Bay Marina. Anyone know someone I the area that they trust and would recommend would be helpful as well.

Many thanks in advance,

John

The fix here is going to be easier than involving Sea Ray and searching for drawings. I think you hit the nail on the head..........your Nuteak installer got caught failing to understand how the boats are made when he began unscrewing stuff.

The chair pedestal mounts are thru bolted, not screwed in place. I fear the Nuteak people unscrewed the bolts and removed the pedestal. The nuts and washes are now loose inside the headliner. Nuteak then tried to replace the bolts with big machine screws when the bolt threads wouldn't catch the nuts when they tried to reinstall them. You will have to have the headliner pulled down to retrieve and replace the nuts and washers (or T-nuts, depending upon where your boats was made). Pulling down the headliner is always tricky because you never know how much glue was sprayed behind it. A lot and you can stretch the headliner out of shape leaving puckers and wrinkles when it is reinstalled. It is also very difficult to replace a partial headliner because the pattern might not be available, certainly not from Sea Ray, and if it were, your original is 15+ years old and is going to be faded some so a perfect match is unlikely.

Sorry you are off to such an "eventful" start..........but, good luck with it.

I'd make the installers of your Nuteak figure it out......their installers created the damage. I'd call it on them to contact a repairer on your route.

Short story for now but I have come to the safe conclusion it was not them an I speculated to soon. Glad I have not stated or printed their name which was by intent till the facts are in. Till later when I fill in the blanks. PS, anyone else have key board issues on CSR sometimes?

It was never installed properly I believe. John will update this soon I'm sure. He has posted pics on FB.
