420 Sundancer Feedback

Does anyone have any insights to the pros / cons of this model? I'm looking at 2003's with the Cummins 6 CTA's.

I haved an 05 420 with 480ces. I do not have any real complaints. The boat rides well and gets really decent fuel economy. We are really happy with it.

I have a 2003 with 6CTA 8.3M3 450s. Great boat. I have put 450 hours on it since I bought it. I am the second owner. Search for 420 threads. We had a very active thread that began after I bought my boat. There is a ton of good information on this site.
Bottom line-a good boat, well executed by Sea Ray, with no bad habits.

The 420 with 6CTA's is a rocket sled, move right nice and has a great ER layout. The forward outboad gust over under bunks are fine for a family but a little close for two couples.

I am new to the 420 (6 months) and i have no complaints. Coming from a 320 we have so much more room for my family of 5. I beleive you can find an 04 with the hard top in the same price range. THis is a great option and must have. Motors are solid and push with no problem. We cruise at 2200 rpm, 24 MPH and burn about 26 GPM. Better fuel consupmtion than my 320! My 04 electronics have failed, so expect to upgrade in this model year; i have the old RL80 and coming from the c series on my 320, big differance. Best of luck.

I have the 2005 with the 6CTA's. This is my third Sea Ray and will be my last. It is a terrific boat; no complaints.

Thanks everyone for the feedback on my post. I can't recall so overwhelmingly favorable responses on a boat model! This is a very good sign. While we all know no boat is perfect or meets every need of an owner the 420 appears to come about as close as it gets. Congrats on all of you 420 owners and, with some luck and perseverence, I'll count myself among you soon.

I have the 6CTA's.... 04 hardtop... Blue hull.
Great ride, Great looks.. only complaint was the RL80C.... after I saw the 05 witht the C120... small issue to an
otherwise awesome ride.

I think it could be my ultimate boat. I walk by one every time I go down to my boat. I guess if its good enough for Taylor Swift's daddy....But then there's that beautiful 520 sitting next to that....Sigh...Gives me a good reason to keep working, I suppose ! Hope it all works out for ya..
