You have a good point Alex...I am sure we will never know if the Fuel Dock was pumping dirty fuel.

I still have not heard back from the stricken boat.

Looks great…did you have a new dash panel made, or is that the factory panels. I have new Axioms coming in the mail. I’m going to have new dash panels made sine the SR Navigator left a big recessed hole. I believe the finish from Tecnografic is Vinegar Burl. Can’t anyone confirm?

Factory dash panels sir

Here are the pics of my bilge painted 2 years ago. I moved everything and painted under all hoses and clamps. Yes I’m anal about my bilge.

Mark, that looks unbelievable! What did you use for paint? Thanks.

On occasion when going to the Vineyard or Nantucket, I would stop in Falmouth to purchase diesel from a tanker who sits at the inlet entry, to port, near a restaurant with dock. They use a truck which is customarily used for home heating fuel delivery. Talk about high speed. If you're not careful you could blow your tank out. Anyway, the guy hands me this thing one day to catch the fuel as it emerges from the vent. Worked great! I took a picture and ordered a few. They had two sizes. The one I have is a quart sized container and the other they sell is a gallon. Here's a photo but go to the Amazon link below for a better understanding of how this works. Unfortunately, it appears they currently do not have any in stock and you may need to source from elsewhere. This is a great invention though and does exactly what it states.

I'm kicking myself because one of those came with the boat when we first purchased. Didn't know what it was for then so it ended up in a box somewhere and i can't find it.

I think "No-Spill" quit making catch cans or is out of business. I heard they got sued because the name implied 100% no spills or something like that. Sheesh

There is a company on FB Group for Puget Sound Boating that has one. They are Vent-Tender. Looks the same as the no spill. I have a no spill and one that Mark (PO) made. I tend to look at the readout on the amount of fuel in the tanks and subtract 10 gallons or so to prevent over filling. The Starboard side seems to want to overflow more easily.

Back to my original description of high speed fuel stirring up sediment, my buddy cleaned the Racors and all is good. No one else in the group reported issues with fuel. 4 or 5 in the group fueled up. My buddy may have had water in his tanks...dunno.

He does have a dual Racor set up. I will ask him today if they are are in series or parallel. In parallel, I could see turning a valve and having a fresh filter working right away.

I'll let you know!

Good info on the Vent Tender. Exactly like "No-Spill." I just purchased one as a spare. I like the way they link a lanyard to it so if it detaches from the boat, you wont's lose it. I have lost 1-2 of the originals over the years doing just that. I only have one left so timing here is good. Thanks!

Does it also keep fuel from running down the side of your boat?

Short answer, yes. There is a rubber circular flange/gasket on back side of container which is placed over the vent hole. When the device is affixed to the boat securely with the suction cup mounts, the fuel spits out into the container. When done remove container carefully and pour excess fuel into your tank. I rarely see more that a few ounces but it's better in the container than causing a mess in the water. (I still keep Dawn handy though). If you do not fit the container over the hole properly, some could drip but that rarely happens.

I have tried 3 times to order one from the new company, it’s declining order

To answer the question on the dual Racor set up...they are in parallel. If there is an issue, just flip the valve to the the other Racor. Then clean the dirty one when you have a chance and be ready with a built in spare.

I have had these go bad for no apparent reason. Perhaps swap out with a neighboring fuse to see if that will do the trick.
The fuse is indeed the problem. I didn't think these would ever 'go' so was looking for a more complex problem. Mine have screw terminals - which I haven't been able to find. Do you remember where you sourced yours? Thks

Well I think one of my vacuflush units (stbd master head) went. It's lit up green but no suction once the foot pedal is depressed, and no pumping at the accumulator tank in the engine room. It looks like this is in a real fun place to work if I can even get to it without removing the exhaust pipe. Has anyone had this adventure yet, and any gotchas going into it? Did a full rebuild solve the issue or is it worth replacing the entire unit given its nearing 20 years of age?

Looks like you may have a clog. Had that issue on the port side which is not fun but better than the star side. If you can break the vacuum it may be easy to plunge. The vacuum may or may not help you clear. What I did after all failed was remove hose at the pump. Put a wet vac on that end then put a hose with water pressure in the toilet.

I’ve always kept post #3454 by LG111 (dated Jun 23, 2021) in my back pocket for this problem. Genius.

Having said that, when my vacuum in the master cabin lav failed I tapped a square looking solenoid on the top the tank and it all came good.

Thanks Irie and Aeo! Was indeed a clog (apparently guests ignoring my no flush speech) that became apparent once I got the gloves out. All is good after some prodding with the fish tape.

I got on their web site right away and ordered without issue. About $52 with shipping. Not certain why you're having an issue.

I pulled it and went to west marine. They had what I needed. That was a few years back.

I used

I used Rust-oleum topside marine paint tinted to match.
Mixed it with west system 105 resin. It is hard as a rock and easy to clean.

How did you get the tinting correct? Once you had the color match what formula did you use to mix with the west 105 resin? I've never used before. Thanks.
