Many automotive performance suppliers recommend using catch cans in the crankcase breather line on Turbo Charged engines. Has anyone ever heard of using Catch Cans on the 3126s to keep the air intake to the turbo clean? Wouldn’t this help keep the intercooler clean, and help keep the performance of the engine up?

Or is the little bit of oil being introduces from the breather tube helping to lubricate something? I do not want to try and make an improvement and end up damaging something

the airseps do that job. They collect oil and return it to the oil pan using a drain hose

Additionally, AirSeps recycle crank case fumes as well. Catch cans just collect some of the oil in blow-by, but they also spew oily mist all over the engine room. I would be surprised if your boat doesn't already have Air Seps as original equipment installed by Sea Ray. In the late 90's Sea Ray implemented Air-Seas on all 3116 and 3126 engines to muffle the turbo whine.

Also, if you have enough blow-buy to even consider a road pipe and catch cans, you may have an engine problem you need to evluate.

Two great answers! Do not have a problem that I know of, just wondered why we do not need them. Now I understand that the AirSeps are doing the job.
Thank you.
Can not wait for spring!
