Anyone of you gents haul a 410 dancer out with a fork lift ?
Let me know

thank you

You would need an awfully big forklift. My marina has a really big one, but it think the go to the travel lift on the high 30 foot range.

@nealtrombley, thats a lotta boat for even a large marine forklift. Could it be done? Possibly. Would I have tried it when I had my 410? Not likely. I got super nervous when they lifted my 34’ Regulator (39’ overall). The forks were too short in my opinion. The 410 is almost 46’ overall and 3x the weight of my CC.

Those forks aren’t anywhere near long enough. Looks like the figured the engines that far back would make it work.

I used to haul my 290 by fork lift don't think they did any bigger, why do you need a fork lift? I would pass on that

I’ve seen Sweetwater in Fort Myers lift a 380 before. I Probably wouldn’t be lifting my boat like that.
Sweetwater is why I was asking they said they could
I’ll probably pass

thank you for the input

It’s all about the center of gravity. And frankly, I’m surprised my COG is that far aft - although she did teeter a bit when the fork truck bounced. Guess it was very near COG.

We have 4 large Marina Bull Forklifts at our marina in Florida >The largest boat Sundancer they will pick up is a gas 370DA. One day several years ago I heard a lot of yelling from the forklift wells……they tried to lift a Cat powered Diesel 370DA and it was so nose heavy the entire forklift teetered on the front wheels with the rear wheels and counter-weights a foot off the pavement. I think we finally had 12 full grown men on the back of the forklift to get the balance safe enough to put the boat back in the water.

The forklift drivers regularly lift and move big , 40-ish ft, center consoles with Tripps or quad outboards, but he COG of the load is way different than a Sundancer. I'd just pay the haul-out fee and have a 40 DA hauled out with a travel lift rather than risk the forklift.

I agree 100% with Frank... not worth the risk of boat or life to do that. Different type of boat yes, see it all the time.

Without a doubt the design and engineering of the hull and superstructure considers lifting with straps. I would be very concerned with the point loads of two relatively short "bunks" picking the boat from underneath. I'm not sure the designers considered a bending moment on the hull that a forklift would impose.
I'm even nervous when they pick my boat with three straps.

its not the money... convivence short run and do it yourself yard,, versus 3 hr run and two hr drive to the boat for same convivence....

Thanks Frank...

Thank you all.. really appreciate the in put,, I was 99% thinking it was not a good idea,,, but they were saying it could be.

I kept my boat at haulover marine center for a year - watched them fork boats up to 50' way heavier than your 410 (not just go fasts) its all about the equipment - i would trust the crew at sweetwater, they know what they're doing

Have you tried Owl Creek? Only a slight bit further up the river than Sweetwater and from what I recall, they will let you work on your own boat there.
