Well, I am in the home stretch of finalizing the details on a 2001 410 Sundancer. The survey went very well though I do have a "punch list" of a few items to take care of. Mostly minor stuff as the boat is in great shape--fresh water for 10 years one year spent in the Florida Panhandle (truly shows as a fresh water boat). I am having the bottom re-done while it is still in Florida and then it will be shipped to me in Ohio the week of April 23rd.

I wanted to see if any current 410DA owners can point me in the right direction on finding the correct replacement windshield wiper blades and arms.

Looking forward to re-joining the Sea Ray family--I previously owned a '97 190 BR, '98 250 DA, and '02 300 DA before moving into a 2004 Formula 34 PC for the past 7 seasons. LOVED the Formula, but they don't offer what I need for my family as my kids grow up. The 410DA seems like a great boat and I look forward to many years of boating with her!

Try directbus.com. The wipers and arms are made by Dana and directbus has replacements. Congrats and good luck with the new boat..

For just the blades I went to an auto parts store and they inserted them into the holders. I may want to replace the entire arm as well though. There is a 90 degree fitting for the water hose on the deck that broke off when my boat was being washed when I first splashed her. Does anyone know where I can find a new one?

Bryan,

I just replaced my wiper blades and arms a few weeks ago. I ordered all my new cosmetic replacement parts from Colony Marine in St. Clair Shores as they're my closest Sea Ray dealer (they also have a store in Pontiac). I know that's quite a hike for you from down in Monroe but any Sea Ray dealer can order them for you. I paid $61 and $30 each for the arms and blades respectively.

When you get to replacing them, you'll need to adjust the blade angle by popping off the plastic cap on top, loosening the screw and matching the angle of the old blade. Also be sure to keep the cog insert from the old arm that goes around the wiper motor fitting under the windshield.

If you have any other questions, just send me a PM and I'll be happy to help.

I see this here often. Why would you suggest diagnosing an issue via PM?

One of, if not "the", largest benefit of this forum is to share issues so that everyone can learn from other's experiences. No?

I completely agree and the second paragraph of my initial post describes exactly what needs to be done in order to replace the wiper arms and blades on a 2000 through 2003 Sundancer 410 (and perhaps other models). I suggested for Bryan to get in touch with me directly through e-mail (my error using "PM") if he has any problems while replacing the hardware because we have already exchanged several personal e-mails over the past few months as we both just purchased 410 DAs. If he encounters any new issues, we'll certainly post them for the greater good of the forum.

In defense of Jeff (and others that suggest contact via PM), I agree that it is very useful to share information directly on the forum--the help provided by members here is invaluable. That said, if I want to ask Jeff (or others) specific questions about an install, their thoughts on a part, etc. then communicating offline makes sense.

Don't worry--as a 410DA "newbie," I will have plenty of questions and comments to post directly on this forum!

And, Jeff... thanks for the information on the wipers/blades. I know Colony Marine very well so I may just contact them even though they are not that close to me.

Looking forward to it! It seems like most of the 410DA owners in the forum are old salts with a lot of experience with the boat, so you don't see many one-off questions being posted specific to this model.
