Has anyone replaced the two black tracks for the upper door lid that slides before entering down the steps. It appears the dash forward has colored caulking that would need to be cut out to gain access to the tracks further inside? Not a hard job but a PITA job and matching the caulking color will suck. Has anyone found another way to access the Philip screws up inside?

I replaced mine (express not sundancer) and everything was accessible but not easily. Try using a small socket with Philips head, or a flexible screwdriver etc. I don't believe sea ray put the door tracks in before installing the dash from others I've seen.

Ill need to do this sooner or later, mine has a hitch about 1/2 way back and i see its rubbing some gelcoat off.

I looked with a friend a could weeks ago and we thought the same thing, the top is going to have to be removed to get full access.

The other big issue is getting replacement tracks and trucks. Im not sure if these are standard preformed parts or if the trsck would have to be custom bent.

I did mine several years ago and it wasn't too bad. Cut old track as far back as possible, which almost conseals the cut. Don't think anyone would notice but me. Cut new track to fit, lining up screw holes as it was pre drilled and drilled 2 new holes at joint.

I bought the track many years previous at MM and put it off for the reasons you mentioned. In the end it was easy. Think those parts are available now at boatoutfitters.com but pretty expensive. Then what isn't.

Ouch!!! $229.99!! Is there any other parts needed? Truck trains? Not sure whats in mine is complete and or factory...

How much of the truck did you cut off? If I wanted to do a complete job, would I just have to suck it up and pull that cover?

Good idea Marty. Yep boatoutfitters.com has the tracks and trucks. I unscrewed the front part of the track, lifted and the top sliding door will come right out. The gap where the slider goes is about 3". A long 90 degree power tool was what I was thinking to get the screws out in the back. Putting back in, I was thinking, tapping the new track in the same location as the old track on the end, I could rescrew in the same end hole. That would hold the track in place as I moved further out. I think it would take two guys. One holding the track stable, the other drilling. Otherwise, I'll cut the track...Really dont want to pull the caulking. .

I am also going to have to replace this on my '02 410 and was wondering the same thing if I needed to remove that top panel of the dash....Sounds like it maybe just dismantling the sliding door section and working with that? LG111, PLEASE, definitely PLEASE post pics, steps if/when you decide to tackle.

    Sea-Rayparts.com has then for 203.99.
Not sure what the shipping difference is between the two .coms.

I'll end up tackling this for sure in the near future, maybe during Christmas break. The port track is split in the center with tape on the back side holding it together. Ugggg. And the starboard track is warped out and up from the sun. Everything else on the boat looks factory new so gotta get that job done.

Ps I am not figuring out how to upload pictures. I mean, I see the upload file but pictures wont stick.

Checked today the number of screws to reach under cover. Port side has 4 and starboard has 3. Its gonna be a reach for sure. Not impossible but now working on how to apply pressure to unscrew. With a mirror it appears the top cover is bedded in with clear silicone and color caulking where its visible on top. Grrrr.

Here are a couple pictures I snapped. My port side has several screws horizontally in the first 12-18", but then starts to free float further back. The gap between the track and the frame is a 1.5" Is this how its supposed to be???

Nope. The port track is two pieces built as one at the factory. It should have screws about every 4 to 6 inches all the way back. The starboard is a 90 degree angle and basically a cap not a track, screwed again the same as the port.

The sliding door has trucks on the port. And a plastic melamine slider on the starboard.

The port track keeps the sliding door in place and the trucks ride in the track. The starboard cap keeps the slider from lifting. Everything should ride smooth and tight with no gaps.
