I’m planning a long run down the west coast of Florida. Does anyone have fuel burn data for a 1997 400DA with Cat 3116 diesels? SeaRay data says WOT at 2800RPM will result in a 30GPH. All well and good but I was planning on a more conservative power setting. I am hoping someone is willing to share their fuel performance data for a 400 Dancer. Really appreciate the help.
Many thanks

I asked a similar question a while ago and Frank Webster provided some ideal data. Search over the last few months and you will find it. I plotted a graph based on what he gave me and what I measured on the sea trial for my 3126s.

You were enquiring about 3116TA engines which are only 300 hp. A clean-bottomed 400DA loaded for cruising will burn approx. 15 gph @ 2200 rpm, 22 kn. which is my long distance cruise speed. Impressive!

From the Cat fuel burn tables:
300hp 3116's burn 9.7 gph per engine @ rated cruise of 2400rpm
350hp 3116's burn 11.3

Warren's numbers for 2200 rpm on 300 hp engines are exactly the same as Cat's table. 350 hp engines at 2200 rpm burn 9.0 gph/engine

BTW, 2200-2250 is a sweet spot for these engines.
