I just bought a 1997 400 Sedan Bridge a month that has two heads. Both Vacuflush units were working when I bought the boat. The VIP head stopped working after a couple of uses. When I step on the pedal, the trap opens but it does not flush and then it adds water to the bowl. The head in the master stateroom still works as expected. I thought maybe the tank was full (had a similiar issue on my 280 Sundancer when the tank was full) so I did a pump out...did not help.

I'm new to a boat with multiple heads, so I have a few questions:
1) Is there two sepearate vacuflush/holding tank systems, one for each?
2) Is it possible for one to get "clogged", but not the other?

Any ideas on what to try?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, I don't have two head, buy had a similar problem. The pump runs when it senses a pressure differential, just like your water pump. If it's clogged, it will exhibit the symptoms that describe. I had to plunge the toilet several times and then whoosh, it emptied. Cheapest boat fix that ive ever had

Almostenuff...thanks for the tip. I had been "out of service" for a while with some medical issue, but I was able to plunge out the toilet and it seems to be workin now! Thanks for the tip...SteveC.

Still getting better flush out of the other vacuflush...this one seems to "trickle" at times. Any thoughts?

Steve,

I'm not a vacuuflush guru, but we have similar systems. There are two separate vacume pumps (master head and guest head) that pump the waste from the heads to the holding tank. Do you hear the pump kicking off when the pedal is pressed?

If you have a clog it will not allow the vacuum generator to start. This is where I would begin the search.
