400, 42 and 44 sedan bridge comparisons

Also re read up above that AlexF says he purposely found 450 mechanical engines for his choice of power in the 420 model he has. So I wonder if his are the 450 diamond's?
His are the 450 Diamonds. Not many 420s out there with them, but if anyone could find one, Alex could.

The remedy for the valve issue is replacing the head with a new version that Cummins developed to solve the failed seat issue. And of course pitching the props to burn fuel like a 450 Diamond (basically give up that little extra hp provided by the 480CE). Most that had the failure on one engine also went and did the preventative head replacement on the other engine. Some have gone ahead and done the preventative head replacement on both engines to avoid the failure.

Ok thanks for the info. I did find a 420 locally that said had 430hp engines so I assume those are the 450 Diamonds. But it has a contract on it and broker said it's likely going to sell. They were just waiting on the oil samples to come back.

The mechanical 450 diamond are near built proof! Awesome choice! The next best option is the newer 2006 to today is the QSC500. Fully digital, less smoke and cruise about 3 knots faster. From what I read about the CE480, after a rebuild, there have been no issues...
