Engines
454 mercruiser with bravo drive
Engine was a back up , boat is gone ,
Time too time I run adds too sell ,
Engine originally belonged too a boater / car guy/ he 2 saving for a project ,
Sitting years
I Purchased went from dry garage too dry garage , Sitting years
I start 2 times a year ,
Self contained cooling with heat exchanger ,
water running thru heat exchanger , radiator fluid full ,
Starts instantly idling fine
Other day got a person responding , has twins on his boat wanting back up ,
Asking about compression I said , I really don't know but should ,

Engine is 4 cylinder 3.7 Mercruiser ,
Compression should be 150 lbs

Borrowing compression tester from Auto Zone ,
CYLINDER 1 -3 -4 all had 150 lbs
CYLINDER 2 - had 135 lbs ( put a 1/4 CAP ) oil into spark whole , Lubed it,
Helped , brought compression up too 142

What do you folk think ? let it run long periods of times with water running thru
might help get it up too 150 lbs
Close is good horseshoes , boat engines ?

thanks

Huh?

Do you need affirmation and validation?

what is your goal?

Yeah......HUH??

Go back, slow down, check your grammar and spelling, and repost the question you want answered.

I will interpret his lingo for you. He wants to know if he should work on the engine and attempt to get that cylinder higher or sell as is.

My 2cts...... Tell prospective buyer the compression test results and sell as is. Price accordingly.
