Its my first year with our 268. It has twin 4.3s. I disconnected all the hoses I could reach and pulled the drain plugs out of the manifolds (and got water out of all of them). I cant seem to find any plugs on the block though. For those of us with twins you know it is VERY difficult to get down low on the engines, but I have had myself hanging upside down on both sides and just cant find any. Is it possible that it does not have any??

It will have them. Stbd side is tucked by front of starter. On port side I just fish my hand in there to find the petcock.

I don't know about the 4.3.....but on my 454 the Stbd one is where suggested above...just in front of the starter. The port side on mine anyway is near the front...pretty close to the engine mount.

If I may offer a suggestion....and I love this one I got from someone here.....

If/when you find those engine block drain plugs....pull 'em out and throw them away. Relace them with a 2-3 inch brass nipple threaded into the engine...and a quick disconnect on the other end. It really makes life so much easier simply clicking that disconnect off to drain...and then clicking it back on. And mine are much easier to find and see now too instead of having to fumble around blindly down under those damn engines.

Good luck.

Anyone ever work on something, have difficulty figguring it out, decide to ask someone who would know and before you finish your question..... you figure it out. Then go HOW THE HELL DID I MISS THAT. Well.... I went back and looked after reading the reply, HOW THE HELL DID I MISS THAT :smt119. I found them both, thank you much Molson. To old vet. One of the four had a brass threaded plug, and it was so much easier just reacing in with a socket than trying to get a pair of plyers in there. Im going to replace them all with a threaded blug. Also, from experience I "Never seize" the daylights out of everything I work on. Pays off in the long run. Thanks again guys.

No worries, I did the same thing the first time I looked for them. Fished my hand everywhere and kept grabbing a motor mount bolt. Came back, asked someone and got "its there, look again" and when I did I found them. DOH!
