Here is my new cockpit sun screen......it seems like all of the slips we go to end up facing west making the cockpit unbearable in the summer.

That looks great - and, you can see from the cockpit out...how good of a job does it do keeping the temp down? I would love one - did you make it yourself, can you provide some details if I wanted to replicate it? Thanks for sharing!!

The material your sunscreen is made from looks like the same stuff we used on our 330 Sundancer.

We also had one to cover the windshield but it was made of white Sunbrella. The combined white sunscreens kept it about 20* cooler inside than out.

Thanks Ziekman.....It may be Sunbrella not sure as I haven't gotten the paperwork from my canvas guy that did the job. It's common here in FL and you usually see it on salon windows on sedan bridge boats. I haven't used it in hot weather here yet but I expect a big improvement. The idea is you can have your u-zips open to get some air movement but still block a lot of sun and UV light. We had a solid canvas cockpit cover that he just used as a template to make it fit the same snaps / zippers. My only concern will be if it scratches my eisenglass or not. Since it's only on the boat when I'm on it and facing the hot sun I doub't that will be an issue. i wouldn't want to leave it on all the time though.
