My Norcold refrigerator in my cockpit no longer cools (runs though) so before I start tearing it out does anyone have any first hand experience they'd like to share with that ordeal?

Also any recommendations on a new unit that fits the opening? My unit is a Norcold model DE 0051.

Thanks!

We were looking at replacing ours however it does still run so we are keeping it another year. But when I did take it out it wasn't a big deal. Straight forward. A replacement one costs around $1400.00 for us. I haven't heard of anyone else getting the Ac/DC fridge replacement for much less than that but I have seen them online for about $800.00.

I know on my 380 you will have to remove the refrigerator cabinet left side, and TV and the compartment from the top compartment on the top, and then you will also have to remove the sliding entrance doors to get the old out and the new in, if you boat is like mine?

Talking cockpit not cabin right? If so yours is vastly different than mine on my 390DA.

Yes the doors going down from the cockpit/helm area to the inside. I have the Norcold DE461
