The 390's generator is running about 220 degrees and shutting off. I changed the impeller and pulled the cover on the heat exchanger. It had a little plugging on the bottom holes but nothing major. I got everything back together and its still running hot. Anyone know what type of motor powers the quicksilver brand? I know its made by generac but I was trying to find out what the actual motor was. I was thinking Mitsubishi or something like that. Thanks

Well I found out its a Nissan 1.0l or 1.2l I'm thinking maybe the motors water pump is bad. I'm going to ceck raw water flow into and out of the heat exchanger then go to the engines pump after that. I traced the motor back to a 1980-1982 Datsun B210 in case I need a water pump.

I cannot help with your gen, but what about showing us some pics of your refurbished 390???

She s a little nasty right now, I've been wallowing like a pig in it since last night. I dont know how to post pictures but I can send them to you by phone. I did the burlwood dash with white gauges. Brazilian cherry hardwood downstairs and all new upholstery outside I changed up a few things on the layout but its hard to tell without another '89 to compare to. PM me your number and I'll send you some pics. I did just get the engine water pump off and its froze up tight. Looks like I'm going to have to bribe the Carquest guy to try and find this pump and timing belt. The funny thing is, I guess the belt was skipping over the pump and still running! Its a wonder the thing didnt jump time because this pump is froze tight!
