Hey everyone,

Something weird is going on with my Stereo and the speakers. The current setup is a Sony System receiver, Amp(somewhere hidden), helm remote, with 2 interior speakers, 4 exterior speakers, and 1 exterior Sub. They are all Rockford fosgate. There are also 2 bow speakers that i have no idea how they work. There is a switch inside for outside speaker power(which I assume turns on the amp). Anyway the issue im having is that the port side exterior only seem to work intermittently...They might be really low and sometimes are working 100%. I messed with all the balancing settings etc... Any thoughts on where to begin to diagnose? Also how do those Bow pod speakers work?

As far as diagnosing, I would start at the speakers themselves. Is the connection loose, corroded, etc. If you can figure out which amp is driving those speakers, you could run a temporary wire without snaking it rthrough the boat and see if that fixes the problem.

In regards to the switch, I have one right at the door to go downstairs that controls the bow speakers. The funny thing is, it might also control the interior speakers. It seems like you turn it on once to do the bow speakers, then off then on to shut off the indoor speakers. Of course I've been drinking whenever I've tried to fool with them so I could be very wrong....

lol, love the last part of your comment. I know what you mean....Good suggestions and I will most likely start there to diagnose. I was looking to see where they hid this amplifier too but their parts manual doesn't show it, looks like a call to Searay is needed.
