Hello, I have a 1993 370 Sundancer with 7.4 Bluewater carb./ Thunderbolt engines.
The boat has about 500 original hours on it and has just had both the engines oil and filters changed with Amsoil Marine 10 W 40, new fuel filters and water seperators, transmission fluid and filters changed with Amsoil Synthetic ATF fluid. I just did a tune up on both engines including AC Delco sparkplugs, plug wires, rotors & caps.
I carry minimal fresh water in the fresh water tank, have a near empty holding tank and keep it between 1/2 and 3/4 full of fuel.
The bottom paint was completely removed this sping and the bottom was barrier coated and then painted with Micron Extra. It is very smooth and free of any growth or slime.
I generally cruise around 3000 RPM's at about 20 MPH.
After all of this I'm still getting terrible fuel economy ( high fuel consumption ). The gauges indicate that I used 60 + gallons of fuel for a 20 mile round trip...
I realize that I could have a fuel gauge / sending unit problem with both tanks ( both gauges read the same ) and the gauges may not be totally accurate.
My question is what amount of fuel consumption is normal and what are the other 370 owners expereincing?
Thanks, Dwayne
