36 Sedan Bridge Owners

here are rough numbers on the diesel......

WOT 2900 RPM 32 GPH
Cruise to Destination 2200 RPM 20 GPH
Cruise home from Destination 1400 RPM 14 GPH

I am not one who really looks at these numbers.....Diesel will by far out perform gas if that is important to you....Other benefits to diesel that to me is more important.....

What are the MPH you are getting at those RPM's about? Thanks!

I have a gas setup. At around 2100 RPM I am getting .9 mpg and 10 mph. I peak out at about 29mph at .4 mpg.

Now I have to see how accurate I am whenever I am allowed to take the boat back out........In most cases only pertaining to the gas vs diesel issue, get in the boat you can afford and want.....Dont just look at these numbers....Ya you might take a hit when you go to sell a gas boat, but who doesn't.......It is a great boat whatever engines you have in them......

Thanks for the info. We aren't buying something right away (have only had the 310 for 1.5 years, and had a 240 before that for only 6 months), but next boat will def be a sedan (expanding family- have a dog (choc lab) and our first child is on the way). We probably put 100-150 hrs a year on the boat, usually 1 trip to the bahamas a year so fuel efficiency is always something to look at and also on the bahamas trip we can get more mileage and go further places w/ diesel. Price isn't going to change things on diesel vs gas for us. Diesel seems the best route, just not very many diesel 360DB's out there

Mine is the only one used

Yea doesn't seem like they made very many or just people hold on to them. We won't be looking for probably another 1-2 years. Seems when looking though there isn't a huge price difference between a 36DB and 44DB (when comparing diesel in both).

Anyone have a sunpad for their 36DB? I found a picture of one setup but don't know who to contact. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

I am currently in the process of getting a sun pad made for the Wife and we are at the same time having a custom cover made for the aft part of the bridge - something that we can decommission/recommission rather quickly and enjoy more open space.

I'm working with a canvas guy in Red Wing but know of someone in your area that does tons of work for Marine Max in Bayport. I'll send you his contact info.

Also, here is another picture to give you more ideas. This was compliments of another gentleman here on CSR. This is what I am doing. There will be a separate piece secured with Velcro that will cover the hatch when desired.

Hi Folks,

Can anyone tell me if the waste tank level on your control panel registers in increments or is it supposed to show a real time level like the water tank?

My observation from this long weekend was that it was reading 0% on Friday. Saturday it finally registered a reading but it started at 50%. This AM it finally moved beyond 50% but the problem was that it was full. It went from 0% to 50% to 100%.

Is this the correct behavior?

Thanks.

Sorry, please disregard my posting. I re-read some documentation that I received from a Sea Ray Tech and it clearly states the waste tank reads 0%, 50%, 100%.

Thanks.

Anyone else have problems with the horns not working if they get wet? I've had it happen twice, where if we take a little water over the bow, it takes about a week or two for the horn to start working again. I understand that they are supposed to work if they get wet. They are a joke even when they do work, by the way. But at least they are make SOME noise. Be nice to have some real air horns, like they advertised in the literature...

This is what you need, mount it up top next to the radar.

Wow, serious! Where do you have your compressors mounted? Bilge?

I don't have this setup yet, maybe next springs project.

The plan is - put the tank and compressor under the seats on the bridge, mount the valve up top near the horn.

My horn is fine when out front of the boat and the sound is fine in fog..It seems to carry fine...I tried it this weekend.....Why not just carry a couple of handheld air horns as back up.....is cost and loos of storage space worth it....

Engine Maintenance Question

Folks:

Need to do 100 hour service on my boat. Any tips/suggestions for changing plugs and impellors?

Also, anybody find the best place to buy parts online like plugs?

Thanks

Don
