Need help locating where the Aft Cockpit Stereo "Amplifier" is on a 2004 340DA Sundancer. My cockpit stereo isn't working correctly, get a "hum" out of all the speakers. Cabin system working fine. There is a switch in the cabin to select "Cockpit"/"Cabin"...or you can have both on..... Believe it might be the Amp that is bad or connection problem, but I can't find where its located....????

Need help from anyone. Please e-mail reply to:

Truly appreciate the help

Paul,
I don't know if you have the "premium" sound system from the factory or not. I did not have the premium system and when I upgraded, the factory "amp" for the cockpit was located behind the main electrical panel in the salon. The installer on the new system was surprised how small the factory amp was....

My installer said the same thing about the Amp....I think they just tossed it in to say it had an amp. Never seen anything that small...about the size of a pack of cigs.

Same - No upgrade = 2 small, 40 watt amps behind top electrical panel in the cabin. You may need to fade your stereo to the rear, though. I'm not positive that it can be a problem that would give you your symptoms, but it's an easy thing to try.

You should be able to run both amps at once. Just pick which one(s) you want on or off.

I had the same question a few weeks back. If you haven't found it already, its' under the couch in the salon. Pull out the bench (you may have to unhook a strap that is screwed on as a stop. Under the cushion were where my two large JL Audio amps were.

good luck.

You must have the upgraded stereo.
